Message from Braddigan

hey all...
stoked to be back in the states and getting ready for some holiday touring!  just wanted to say a quick hello to you all and that we're hoping to cross paths with as many of you as we can in the next few weeks... sorry for being out of touch lately though, i've been in nicaragua (a place that is quickly becoming my second home) a ton the last few months working with a community of kids that grew up in a trash dump called La Chureca -  they have completely stolen my heart and so i just can't seem to stay away from them for very long!

i was just there for thanksgiving and it was truly one of the most unique days of my life... the turkeys were a little bit skinny, but we introduced our nica friends to stuffing, mashies, and cranberry sauce -  and so there we were up in a mountain town called Jinotega with about 25 in our group, 9 of which were our little princesses from the dump, eating and celebrating thanksgiving together... EPIC!  it was such a sweet and simple day, with loads of new family running around everywhere... anyway, i hope that your day of thanks was filled with blessings, love, friends, and family as well :)

so we've got some news!  yea, we're stoked to announce that we have a brand new live record releasing in just a week or two!!  "Braddigan: Live at Goucher College" was recorded last may... can't wait for you to hear it - was one of our first gigs playing with tiago and so this album serves as his official debut!  we've also made it a double disc so that we could include two radio show interviews...  should be a pretty entertaining record and we'd love to enlist your help spreading the word!

and then on top of that, we've also been hard at work with director kasey kirby on a live DVD from a recent show in Vienna, VA where a lot more than a live show happened! Originally slated for a December release, we are now pushing the release date back to the spring because of a documentary story line that took life that night... the DVD also includes a boatload of special features, w top billing going to a 30 minute short film directed by Jonathan Olinger, capturing the most hilarious moments and wild adventures from our recent Japan tour! it's unreal, just an epic highlight reel. Watch the trailer...

we recently scouted out an island in the bahamas called San Salvador for a big island-wide gig in january.  it's going to be HUGE, err well i guess that depends on your definition!  there are about 800 people total that live on this island, so we're really excited about getting back there to try to rally everyone together.  also we are planning our return trip to Japan in February as well as a trip to Zimbabwe to lay down some groundwork for a possible upcoming benefit concert -  you might want to research the current state of affairs in Zim right now... some tough stuff, but there's always more light than darkness in the world right?!  right on- also can't wait for you to check out our new t-shirts that will be hitting the store on the site this week - we partnered with the amazing crew at jedidiah and I think you'll all dig the new gear!

ok what else?  other than that all things are a go for the steelroots tv show that we shot last may with all the surfers and street kids... and they're cutting together a full blown movie/doc from our experience down there too?  wow -  and i'm also continuing to work on scoring and recording original music for the surf grom dream trip!  it's going to be an unreal film... anyway, sorry for jumping but i've got some plans that i need to work on...  blessings out there over all of you!

love, light and melody~

Braddigan: Live at Goucher College

The record features 10 songs including Watchfires favorite Pura Vida, a sneak peak at previously unreleased songs Customs and Fare Thee Well, and extended versions of Past the Falls and Sweet Uncertain, so you'll hear plenty of Braddigan's best now that the band line up includes Tiago Machado, Brazil's finest, on bass and other crazy stringed instruments... New! Teeshirts and Holiday Merch Specials

As Brad mentioned in his letter above, there are some new t-shirts on the way! Now we don't want to fill your e-mail boxes with shameless propaganda about how great our new shirts are, so we won't. BUT we actually fell out of our seats when we saw the designs that our good friends over at Jedidiah put together for us. Inspired by music and lyrics from the band, these shirts are the next generation of Braddigan merchandise!

Third Surfer is also excited to announce holiday merchandise specials coming this week to the web store. 'Tis the season of giving and we want to make it as easy as possible to give the gifts of music and clothing! Stay tuned to braddigan.com for announcements and how to order for arrival before the holidays...
